There’s a few items that were on my Christmas list that didn’t get ticked off so I’m going to be keeping my eyes peeled for them (and hopefully get them at a bargain price too).
Here’s my tips for pro-ing the sales.
Make a ListThe first of my tips is to make yourself a wish-list of things you need (or really want to buy). Rather than going into every shop on the high-street, plan out the ones that are likely to have the things you need. It’ll help stop you buying everything in sight just because it’s cheap.
If you’re shopping from the comfort of your own home, it may even be worth placing products from your ‘wish-list’ into your shopping cart the night before the sales start. The next day, you can then see if the things you want most are listed in the sale.
ResearchI can’t say this enough. Research, research, research. Find the shops with the cheapest prices, check out reviews and consider how often you’ll use it. If you’re shopping for tech, think about the lifecycle of goods (you might be lured into the latest release but the older version may be more than adequate, plus it’ll probably be cheaper too).
Failure to research could potentially result in disappointment and of course be precious money wasted…
Stick to your BudgetArguably the most important tip; always consider your budget when shopping during any sale season. Before jumping in, set yourself a limit and make sure you stick to it. Think long-term as many of you may have a holiday or bigger purchase to save for later on in the year. Ask yourself ‘what do you want more? Is it that nicer place to live or more clothes in your wardrobe?’
Christmas VouchersTake advantage of any gifts vouchers you may have received over the festive period or even throughout the year from other celebratory events. By spending your voucher during the January sales, you’re bound to pick up twice as many purchases or afford a treat you may have not been able to put your own money towards.
How are your Paying?Last, but not least, if you’re out during the sales, why don’t you spend in style by purchasing with your phone or wearable.
Happy shopping everyone!
