We're withdrawing Buyit from Pingit from 18 February 2021

We need to let you know about the upcoming withdrawal of the Buyit feature from Pingit.

Buyit currently lets you request and pay for goods or services using Pingit, like buying National Lottery tickets, or topping up a smart meter using the SMARTprepay service.

From 18 February 2021, these features will no longer be available on Pingit. So if you use either of them, please read the relevant sections below for more information.

When the change happens, we'll update the Pingit terms and conditions to remove references to this feature.

National Lottery tickets – after the withdrawal of Buyit

From 18 February 2021, you'll no longer be able to buy a National Lottery ticket with the Pingit app.

Until then, you can carry on buying National Lottery tickets with Pingit in the normal way. And if you're lucky enough to hit the jackpot with a ticket bought before 18 February 2021, you'll still get your winnings in the usual way, even after the feature is removed.

The SMARTprepay service – after the withdrawal of Buyit

From 18 February 2021, you'll no longer be able to use the SMARTprepay option within the Pingit app.

Until then, if you currently use this facility, you can carry on as normal. Please check with your utility supplier ahead of this change for alternative ways to pay your bills.
